For the twelfth year, professionals from procurement, supply chain, and financial management will come together for the annual Procurement Forum conference. The event will take place on 4 November at KC City in Prague.
The keynote speaker will be Marijn Overvest, author of Artificial Intelligence in Procurement and founder of the global learning platform Procurement Tactics. He brings many years of experience across the entire procurement cycle in the private sector and also teaches at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, where he bridges academia and business practice in Procurement & Supply Management.
At Procurement Forum, Overvest will present global trends in the use of AI in procurement and explore how its adoption is expected to evolve in the years ahead. He will show where artificial intelligence can deliver the greatest value for procurement, as well as where its limitations may prevent it from generating tangible benefits.
The full-day programme is built around the theme: Sourcing Resilience.
“Resilience is a capability that companies need to develop over the long term, and procurement plays a key role in building it. Procurement teams are often the first to detect changes in the market, assess risks, and help companies navigate an environment of growing uncertainty. Their decisions have a direct impact on supply chain stability, business continuity, and the company’s overall competitiveness,” says Tereza Ordóñez of Blue Events, the conference organiser.
Market shifts will be explored by Tomáš Dvořák, economist at Oxford Economics, who will examine how Europe can adapt in the medium term to a new world shaped by fierce competition from China, geopolitical rivalry, and protectionism.
The programme will also feature a range of first-hand business insights from procurement and supply chain leaders representing Orkla Foods Česko a Slovensko, Meopta, AERO Vodochody AEROSPACE, Skanska, Pivovary Staropramen, Marelli Lighting, PENNY, and O2 Czech Republic.
They will explore some of the key issues transforming procurement today, including the changing skill set of procurement managers, pressure on profitability, the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, and crisis communication.
