John Hegarty, the creator of iconic campaigns for brands such as Levi’s, Johnnie Walker, Axe, and Audi, will visit Prague for the first time. This globally recognized creative, whose work has left an indelible mark on the advertising industry, will speak at a conference organized by Blue Events.
This year's 10th annual Brand Management conference will take place on October 3, 2024, and carries the subtitle "Married to Creativity." This perfectly describes John Hegarty, who has dedicated his career to connecting creativity with brands. "Creativity is a way to enhance business efficiency and help companies grow and define who they are," Hegarty says in a video invitation to the conference.
Iconic Campaigns and Global Influence
John Hegarty has been active on the global advertising scene for an incredible 60 years. In 1970, he was one of the founders of Saatchi & Saatchi and later co-founded the agency BBH (Bartle Bogle Hegarty), which now has offices worldwide, including in New York, Los Angeles, Stockholm, Shanghai, Singapore, and Mumbai.
For Hegarty, creativity is a key factor in business growth. However, it is necessary to create conditions in which creativity can thrive. "Boldness is absolutely essential in the advertising industry because you have to come to the office with a new idea and present it to a group of skeptics. Every day," he writes in his book "Hegarty on Creativity – There Are No Rules" (2015, Slovart).
Hegarty is the author of the famous slogan "Keep Walking" for Johnnie Walker whisky. His team worked the longest for the Levi’s brand, creating campaigns for 28 years. Among his more recent projects is the global campaign for the UN's Global Goals, which ran in cinemas in 30 countries.
Active Even at Eighty
At 80 years old, Hegarty remains very active. He co-founded The Garage Soho, a company that invests in startups and their brands. He is currently involved in two online educational programs, including the 8-week course The Business of Creativity and the Advertising Principles Explained program in collaboration with System1. Hegarty has received numerous creative awards, including the D&AD President's Award for Outstanding Achievement and the title of Sir from the British Queen. In 2011, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.
